GoodSearch and GoodShop

AVKO has teamed up with GoodSearch (powered by Yahoo!) to help earn money to help pay for the free resources that AVKO provides to its members, such as free catalogs, free videos, free daily tutoring, etc.  GoodSearch is another search engine that donates half of the ad revenue generated to charities and non-profit organizations.  You search like you normally would; for each search you perform, the charity you select receives, on average, one cent.  In addition, GoodShop donates a percentage of your online purchases (on hundreds of online shopping sites like Amazon, Apple, eBay, Best Buy, and The Gap; see the full list here) to the charity or non-profit you select. 

To help AVKO, follow these steps:

Use GoodSearch:

  1. Go to the GoodSearch website and enter "AVKO" into the "Who[m] do you GoodSearch for "box and hit "Enter." 
  2. Search as you would normally.
  3. Download the GoodSearch toolbar for Internet Explorer or Search Engine plug-ins for Firefox, Safari, or Chrome from GoodSearch
  4. Each time that you go to search for something, make sure to tell GoodSearch that you're supporting AVKO by following the first step.
  5. See how much money has been raised via GoodSearch and GoodShop for AVKO.
  6. Send this page to your friends and family.
  7. Note: Only one charity is supported at a time by each person.

Use GoodShop:

  1. Go to the GoodShop website and enter "AVKO" into the "Who[m] do you GoodSearch for" box and hit "Enter." 
  2. Click on the store you'd like to shop from by clicking on the link from the GoodShop website and then shop normally.
  3. Each time that you go to shop for something, make sure to tell GoodShop that you're supporting AVKO by following the first step.
  4. See how much money has been raised via GoodSearch and GoodShop for AVKO.
  5. Send this page to your friends and family.
